It is over three weeks now since I arrived in the United Kingdom and it has been very exciting to be here, though it is a lot different from where I came from in the city of Jos, Nigeria.
I am really settling well in the vicarage with the vicar and his wife Lisa and their sons, who have been such a blessing. They are such a wonderful couple. It is amazing how Lisa works round the clock to see that everybody in the house is doing okay. Her selfless service to all is rare. She is really looking after me like her own son. She makes me feel like her biological son. She is indeed a mother. She is an amazing cook. Her meals are gorgeous.
Almost all the meals I have had so far I am having for the first time. I have had flapjack, meat and potato pie, jelly, lasagne, trifle and many more, all for the first time. You shouldn’t be surprised if you see me adding weight.
The Church family is a wonderful family. They have warmly welcomed me into the family as if we’ve known each other a long time. This truly shows that we are one body in Christ.
I want to thank the vicar for arranging for me to do a one-year Bible training course at Christ Church Fulwood which will commence from the 26th of September. This I believe will be a refreshing experience.
I pray that the Lord will fulfil His purpose for bringing me here in Jesus' name.
Panshak's licensing by the Bishop of Sheffield as our assistant curate is due to take place in our service of evening prayer on Sunday September 22nd at 6.30pm in the Parish Church. All are welcome.
